One of our founding members in Sydney and Brisbane, First Contact have been with Gravity since the beginning. We've enjoyed the chance to watch this premium service business success grow and mature, in a highly competitive industry. The unique business offers Managed Executive Hospitality solutions to large corporations and premium office assets.

Every concierge is not only competent but personable and warm, which gives them a competitive advantage in human capital. Over time they have acquired the industry methodologies, service competencies and system consistency to deliver each and every time on our service promise.

We spoke to Marty Couper about his background, what motivates him and his advice for startups.


So tell us a bit more about First Contact.

First Contact is the pre-eminent executive hospitality services group corporations come to when they need an enduring service-centric solution. We have pioneered an all-inclusive managed solution for a highly personalised "concierge style" service. The service model centres on a full-suite managed front office operation, ensuring that visitors are received in a world-class service environment. We value-add with a range of hotel services managed by renowned career professionals that promote a service culture in any organisation.

And how did you come to be a part of such a great business?

Starting my trade in luxury hotels, I've seen and arranged it all: from Britney Spears ordering 10 pizzas for herself to last minute flight arrangements for a guest who missed their flight due having one to many drinks the night before. Working across the globe for the market leaders in luxury hotels has now found me creating that “hotel like” experience into the commercial property sector.

So how did you come to be part of Gravity?

As an energetic and fast moving company, Gravity met our needs perfectly. It provided a space for us to grow as we need it. Also, it has a great environment - state of the art offices in an awesome location.  Flexibility – being able to expand if needed, especially into the other state offices of Melbourne and Brisbane.
