A ‘word from our workspace’

A ‘word from our shared workspace ‘

This week we asked one of our founding members Simon Le Couteur from Collaborateur, to take 5 minutes out to give us a run down on his new business, what makes him tick and how the rhythm of coworking helps anchor himself.

Simon, welcome!

So what’s your business all about?
Collaborateur is a collective of leading independent creatives. Using branding and design, we lead business owners and leaders through a creative discovery process to launch new ventures or reenergise their global brands and businesses.

Sounds like something that every business needs! What’s your working background so far?
Studied business at university. Started in advertising research. Moved into strategic consumer research. Jumped to strategic brand planning. Then cofounded a branding agency. And now as recently as last December I founded Collaborateur. I enjoy working with CEO’s as much as designers, as after all, we’re all here trying to solve the same kinds of riddles anyway.

Very true…Tell us what made you decide that Gravity is the coworking space for you?
Serendipity really. Gravity opened the same time I started Collaborateur. I was contacted by the space concierge, Damian, who I knew from a previous agency and so it all fell into place. The quality and flexibility of the space is ideal for me as I move through my initial set-up phase.

As one of our founding members, we want the space to adapt and grow just as Collaborateur will. Can you give us 3 benefits as to how Gravity is helping you with your business?
Rhythm. Having a work home-base I can anchor myself to.
Flexibility. Allows me easily work together with people I need to.
Location. Gives me a physical office address.

What has been one of your greatest work achievements?
Starting my second creative agency.

Tell us what you love most about what you do.
Get to spend my days hanging out with amazing people solving complex riddles together.

Favourite food?

Favourite book?
My Moleskin notebook.

You’re a true creative! Piece of advice for our other members and for startups and entrpreneurs out there?
Think bigger. Move faster. Back yourself.

We couldn’t agree more. Thanks Simon.
